Who is Ashley Khoo? You must have seen her in TM's Unifi large billboards scattered along Federal Highway. I've seen it for a good 2 months before I eventually noticed some words right underneath the image of a girl with long flowing hair.
It read "Ashley Khoo a.k.a Summer". It went on to say that she's a customer of Unifi, TM's high speed broadband internet service. A quick googling revealed her as an online professional gamer. Cool.
Jay Menon, the radio dee jay and TV personality was very natural in front of the camera. When the petite lass first stood on set, she almost immediately struck a pose, effortlessly that is.
She has very sharp intense eyes that lit up in unison with her wide infectious smile. Her high forehead spoke of confidence, I remarked, to which she laughed. A little googling revealed Jay Menon as FHM 100 Most Wanted Women in the World 2009. No wonder.
We were put into Studio 6 on Level 3 for the shoot today. Unfortunately, there is no elevator access to Level 3, and we had to lug all our equipment from Level 2 by stairs. The room is much smaller, and thankfully, there's no group shot which would have required me to move further back.
When Fiona Jane Gomez walked into the room, she wore a beaming wide smile that proved just a little too infectious for my taking. It shone right through her like a beacon. It certainly helped to add a sense of relaxation to an otherwise dull mood. She appeared very humble, nice and just full of energy as though she's always poised for her next move; no pun intended (as a dancer herself).
We arrived very much earlier on location at 1.30pm to setup as we will be having with us a larger group today. I will be photographing the very pulse of KLPac's operations; their directors plus the vibrant and critically acclaimed T4YP (Theatre For Young People).
Christopher Ling certainly holds himself well with the indisputable air of a fatherly figure. He walks right into the room, followed by a small group of six young boys and girls, just like chicks following their mother hen. He was a very amiable and pretty animated person; truly a pleasant guy to work with. Just as he finished writing his message, he sprung into action, eyes lit up with enthusiasm and suggested he should be sitting on a chair, right next to an empty one with the placard.
The photography project of celebrities and personalities for World Hepatitis Day continues with a much welcomed relief finally. Fortunately, after going through much trouble lugging equipment, travelling and setting up for the shoots at our celebrity residences, we managed to secure the permission of KLPac (KL Performing Arts Centre) to use their premise for all future photography sessions.
We started off with our third and only candidate today; Zoee Tan, a Malaysian actress who is currently busy filming for a movie production in Hong Kong.
