I was finally back photographing the KL International Jazz Festival 2014 at University Malaya. This popular music event made its debut at the leading public university in Malaysia last year.
I was attending this event as more of a guest than a working photographer, hence the coverage of only two performances at the Experimental Theatre; the UM Big Band and that of David Tughan, the UK Jazz singer who performed his session of "Chetting: A Tribute to Chet Baker".
I've never heard of the KL International Jazz Festival (KLIJF) until recently, when I was engaged to photograph the event on behalf of University Malaya (UM), at which the event was held. The KLIJF was debuted last year at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
This year's event was scheduled to kick off in April but was postponed till now. Internationally acclaimed artistes and accomplished local musicians dished out over 20 performances on 4 indoor and outdoor stages, which included the famed Dewan Tunku Canselor (DTC).
Sri Kuala Lumpur International school has just concluded their annual concert with a charitable theme; "A Musical Fusion" which aimed to raise funds to be donated to the Children's Wish Society of Malaysia.
The event held at Great Hall started at 8.00 pm, featuring numerous dance and singing performances put up by the talented students of Sri KL.
It's that time of the year again, where the violent monsoon breeze wafted the lingering sense of freedom and relaxation. Along with it, comes the heralding of the year-end holidays that coincides with the much anticipated Christmas mood.
I've had the privilege of providing videography services to Tadika Kinderland, Kota Damansara, which held its annual concert at Sri KDU International School.
