I was privileged to be offered an insight into the MICHELIN Pilot Sport Experience event that took place in Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia (SIC). This unique 'once-in-a-lifetime- event' lasted the entire day since early morning and ran for more than a month.
Instructed by professional instructors, MICHELIN Pilot Sport Experience participants from all over the world get to drive real racing cars (Formula 4, Rally and Touring cars) in various stations setup around SIC before finishing the day with a hot-lap in exceptional cars (Formula Le Mans and Lamborghini GT3 2014).
I was finally back photographing the KL International Jazz Festival 2014 at University Malaya. This popular music event made its debut at the leading public university in Malaysia last year.
I was attending this event as more of a guest than a working photographer, hence the coverage of only two performances at the Experimental Theatre; the UM Big Band and that of David Tughan, the UK Jazz singer who performed his session of "Chetting: A Tribute to Chet Baker".
Arthritis has always been a vague understanding of a disease of the joints for as long as I can remember. I just know it as something that gives your joints the "wind chill".
So it came as a welcomed opportunity to delve into the disease when I agreed to take part in Abbvie's worldwide art campaign named "Perspectives – Art, Inflammation and Me", to offer my perspectives of being an arthritic patient.
It's been 5 years since I last shot a motor sports photography assignment at Sepang International Circuit. Back then, I completed a 3 consecutive years shoot for the Kencana Racing Team during the Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race (MMER) from 2006-2008.
This round, I was honoured to be commissioned by Audi Singapore to be officially embedded into their racing teams to photo document their journey in a back-to-back participation of the Malaysian leg of Audi R8 LMS Cup and the MMER 2013 as well.
Rentwise has recently returned to the Pasar Borong Community Centre (PBCC) at Selayang to celebrate Children’s Day with its Myanmar refugee children. My first visit with a representative from Rentwise was brief but truly “unsettling” to say the least.
I was present this round to cover the event and played my part in fulfilling my company’s collaboration with Rentwise’s CSR program in helping these kids. What I provided was a simple portrait session for the children, which would result in A4 prints to be given to them after the shoot.
